Digital economy has become a key driver for global economic growth in the 21st century thanks to transformation of the smart and intelligent world, people’s ever-increasing demand and intense global competition. According to the Research Report on Economic Focus of G20 released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), among the G20 members, China’s digital economy had a rapid growth from 26.17 trillion in 2017 to 31 trillion in 2018, representing a growth rate of 18.4%. The figure soared 208 times more over a span of 16 years between 2002 and 2018, and served as a new indicator for domestic economic growth.
